- The 1840s in Milwaukee saw the beginning of Allis-Chalmers manufacturing history
- 1914 say the company entering into farm equipment
- Over the years Allis-Chalmers was responsible for many innovations in farm equipment. It grew to become one of the largest and most diverse manufacturers in North America
- Financial difficulties led to Allis Chalmers being sold to K-H-Deutz AG of Germany in 1985. Duetz sold to AGCO inc. in 1990.
- The remaining manufacturing businesses were disposed of in 1988 and Allis-Chalmers kept an office in Milwaukee until January 1999
